What it is

Redrob Extension, in plain terms

The Extension is Redrob where you already are: reading the page in front of you, translating it, pulling out the part you came for, and filling in the form you have filled in forty times. It runs inside the browser you already use.

Translation is the part of it you can also use without the extension, in Console, on text you paste in.

What it does

  • Translate a page in place, in both directions between Korean and English.
  • Answer about what is on the page without you copying it somewhere else first.
  • Carry out a short task on a page you are signed in to, with the step shown before it runs.

Download

The files, and what each one is

It is not a Chrome Web Store listing. Unzip it, open chrome://extensions, turn developer mode on, and load the unpacked folder yourself.

Each file has its published .sha256 next to it, linked above, so you can check what you fetched before you run it. The files come from cdn.redrob.ai and nowhere else.

There is no one-line install command for this one. Redrob Code is the only application with a script on Console; here you fetch the file and install it the way your system installs that kind of file.

What is not there: It is not in any extension store, so there is no one-click install and no automatic update. There is no Firefox or Safari build. It is also not the Redrob Browser: that is a separate application with its own page.

Credit and keys

What paying gets you

Credit is bought against your workspace, not against a product. One balance, drawn on by whichever Redrob application you open, and it does not expire. So paying now is not paying early for this page: it is the same balance Console itself runs on today.

Connecting Redrob Extension needs no key copied by hand

Press "Connect Redrob" in Redrob Extension and it shows a short code and opens the confirm page here.

Sign in, check the application named on that page is the one asking, and approve it. Console then issues that machine an ordinary workspace API key: it appears in your key list named after the application and the day, it is billed to this workspace like any other key, and revoking it there stops the application. The secret is never shown on the confirm page, and the application collects it once.

The connect step is in the build linked above, so nothing here is waiting on Console. Pasting a key by hand also still works, and is the fallback for a machine that cannot reach Console or a key issued out of band.

If you are a developer

The API is open now, speaks the OpenAI chat completions protocol, and bills the same workspace credit as the applications do. Keys are issued and revoked in Console.

There is no free trial and no welcome credit. A workspace starts at zero and pays first, which is stated here rather than discovered at the till.

Questions

About Redrob Extension

One balance

Download it, then add credit.

A workspace pays first, from $5, and every application draws on that one balance. Nothing to choose and nothing to cancel.
